We look forward celebrating with you the weekend of September 12th to the 14th, 2025!
Alec and Danny's story began 14 years ago at a chance Princeton Running Club practice, where they met for the first time. While Alec's running club days didn't last long, as good fortune would have it, Alec and Danny would truly get to know each other a few months later at a party called "Tower Underground" held at their Eating Club.
In an all-too-cliché love-at-first-sight moment, the initial spark of their connection was undeniable. Danny was drawn to Alec's contagious sense of humor and charm, while Alec found himself drawn to Danny's effervescent character and kind soul.
Over the next three years, they forged countless memories at Princeton — attending formal dances, enjoying sunny lawn parties, and even squeezing in the occasional run along the canal. Yet, it was in the mundane, everyday moments that their romance flourished: walks around the campus, studying for finals, and the occasional road trip to Alec's family's house just 15 minutes outside of campus. Their shared sense of whimsy and easy-going natures made everyday, mundane undertakings feel like a new adventure, day in and day out, enjoying the blessing of growing up together.
After Danny graduated in 2015, the young couple realized that distance was no object to their love. After Danny moved to Washington, D.C., for a job at the Federal Reserve, he became a frequent visitor to New Jersey, where Alec was finishing his senior year, and their relationship only grew stronger through the distance. Alec joined Danny in D.C. in 2016 to take a job at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and they began to build their life together. Their adventures took them to the beautiful beaches of Aruba, spontaneous trips to Cambodia, and the glitz of Saint Tropez. They built a strong group of lifelong friends and navigated the ups and downs of life together.
After three years in D.C., Danny pursued his PhD at Caltech in sunny Pasadena, Alec soon followed to pursue his law degree at UC Irvine. The couple fell in love with California, embracing its beautiful beaches and vibrant culture. All throughout graduate school, they continued to grow and explore their shared passions: music, arts, and fine dining. From Coachella, to the Eras Tour, to Bavel, and Michelin Star restaurants, to a little taco truck outside Pasadena, the no-longer-so-young couple embraced the best that Southern California lifestyle has to offer. Both continued to bring out the best in each other— supporting one another's dream as Alec fulfilled his dream of becoming a lawyer and Danny pursued his career in academia from coast to coast.
Their story continued on its romantic path when in August 2023, Alec and Danny travelled to Danny’s favorite city, Paris, for a special trip. While it was no real surprise what was going to happen on this trip (I mean, it’s Paris!) both Alec and Danny wanted to surprise the other with their proposal. So on the final day in Paris, they planned to have a picnic on the lawn in front of the Eiffel Tower. As the sun was setting, Alec beat Danny to the punch and was the first to get down on one knee. Alec proposed with a custom ring made from Danny’s grandfather’s wedding band.
Not one to be outdone, Danny also got down on one knee a moment later and proposed to Alec. After feigning surprise, Alec also said YES!
Now, Alec has settled in L.A. as a lawyer, while Danny is engaged in a post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard, splitting his time between Cambridge and California. After 13 years, they're grateful for the journey that has helped them grow, and they look forward to the rest of their lives together.
